Here are a few software descriptions and download links. The descriptions are from my personal
opinion. Most of these have 30 day trial versions. I suggest trying them and finding what you are
most comfortable using. There are many others, but these are the ones that I am familiar with.
Free Editing Software:
Wave Pad is a pretty good
program. It is free and my
second favorite of the
programs that I have used.
It is pretty easy to use and
has some good features.
Audacity is a program that I
have not worked with yet. I
plan to learn it soon. I have
heard that it is the most like
Adobe Audition however.
They say that if you know
how to work with Adobe
then you will breeze through
learning this program. I will
update this when i have a
chance to learn it myself.
GoldWave is another free
program. I have used it and
it will do what you need it
too. It has some good
features but personally I
would go with Wave Pad or
Audacity for free software.
Mid-Priced Editing Software:
Acoustica is an ok
program to start with. I
used 3.3 so I do not know
the upgrades that were
made. I found I outgrew
this program quickly but it
did help me in the
beginning.
More Expensive Editing Software:
Adobe Audition is my
favorite program. I was
trained on it and for awhile
taught both versions 1.5 and
2.0! I found it user friendly,
though it does look scary
when you first look at it. I
also found that it has many
amazing features for both
Evps and music. It is very
expensive, but if you can get
it, it is worth it!
Sony Sound Forge is a
program that I am not that
familiar with. I only played
with the trial version a little.
To me, it was a bit difficult
to navigate but I feel that if
you had someone teach
you, it could be a very good
program.
ALBERTA EVP RESEARCH
The Spirits speak, you just have to listen!
Software!
Clear Voice Denoiser is a
very simple program. I
personally found many
flaws in it. I found that it
makes Evps sound very
mechanical and helps aid in
false positives. If you do
chose this program, use it
carefully.
